The era of plastic phones has gone, the phone-makers are relying more on Aluminium over plastic. We have seen HTC One and the tough-phone Xperia Z which is made to swim as well. However Samsung has no intentions to make an aluminium device yet.
The rumors are hot and we have to add Huawei’s new Edge into the above mentioned aluminium smartphones list. The image leaked above is of the casing of the upcoming Huawei phone. The reports suggests it’s name is edge. The casing shown above in the image didn’t seem to be totally polished and it even feels like hard steel and the first time I saw this pic I thought of a 1/2 kg steel block.
Huawei has just released Ascend P2 which itself is quite a powerful high-end device, but it still didn’t manage to hit the market. The Huawei case seems to be the same as HTC One. In that sense the addition of another high-end device by Huawei seems a bit odd.
The rumored Huawei “Edge” is alleged to be equipped with some high-end chips like Quad-core Snapdragon supported with 2 GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front camera. The phone will be powered through a 2,600mAH battery. Most expectedly it will be equipped with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 . No further details have been posted by the available sources.
These specs seems to be interesting keeping in mind the aluminium design which more resembles like a Nokia Lumia 800/900 shaped, anyway I am curious to get some more news about this piece of aluminium we saw. Share your opinion with us by commenting below.
