Vertu has been regarded as the most precious phone in the market. It can be classified as a jewelry item as it is low-end smartphone made of high-end precious metals. Vertu has been using Symbian series 60 operating system for its phones for years but last year they come up with their first ever Android based phone named as Vertu TI. The adoption of Android platform was made to get higher performance and to lure those with some extra bucks to spend.
Today the company has added some more colors to its Vertu TI smartphone. The new colored devices have been wrapped in highly demanding calf leather which is available in two colors Sunset Red or Midnight Blue. The company has made only 1,000 handsets which are available for sale with the number 1-1000 etched on the back of the each device to let the customers know which handset they bought out of 1,000 made by the company.
The best thing about this phone is that it has been made up of hand-polished grade 5 titanium alloy body which is as hard as stainless steel. The older Vertu handsets lack such material that’s why those were 30 percent more heavier than this handset. Further more the phone has a tough sapphire screen surrounded with the Aluminium 6000 series alloy internal structure which makes the phone even more rigid. Each and every model among those 1,000 phones announced are purely hand made.
The specs sheet however shows a mediocre type Android phone with a 3.7-inch tough sapphire screen with the low-end resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, having 252 ppi pixel density. The device has a Dual-Core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor supported with 1GB of RAM. The device has a 64GB of internal storage which is further extendable with the help of a microSD card up to 32GB. Vertu TI comes with an 8 megapixel back camera that can shoot Full-HD 1080p videos while there is another 1.3 megapixel front camera for video chat. The phone runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and there is no chance of any up-gradation to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in near future.
The phone comes with a price tag of €8,900 or US $ 11,700 which is a bit more expensive then the last years TI Titanium Pure Black variant. And of course, the phone still comes with the famed Vertu Concierge, a “100 percent independent” service that CEO Perry Oosting is very proud of. The phone is on Sale right now and for further information you can visit the Vertu special store. The Vertu TI comes up with fancy accessories as well including top of the class hand made leather cases and even matching Wallets. Here are some cool images of the Vertu TI.
