The mid range Nokia Lumia’s line up has been found quite successful in emerging markets and this is due to the access to top level smartphone features in low price which is affordable for most of users in developing countries like India, Brazil and other Middle-Eastern countries. This can be reflected in Nokia’s future event which is going to take place in Abu Dhabi on October 22nd.
This mid range Nokia Lumia series is composed of Nokia Lumia 520, Nokia Lumia 620, Nokia Lumia 720 and a bit above the level smartphone Nokia Lumia 820. The specs sheet of all these devices seems to be similar. At least you can point the Operating System which is Windows Phone 8 and is loaded in all these devices.
What we did is put all these 4 same inheritence devices all together and picked the stat sheet in the comparison view. The difference between Nokia Lumia 520 vs Lumia 620 vs Lumia 720 vs Lumia 820 can be seen in the following chart as the devices lined up above.
The above chart shows that both Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 820 comes with the same 4.3 inch displays but there is a bit difference in the build quality of the display. Nokia Lumia 720 comprises of a WVGA IPS LCS while the Lumia 820 has that superior known WVGA AMOLED display which is well known for its clear black display technology. While the Lumia 520 comes with a 4-inch wide WVGA IPS LCD while among all above mentioned devices the Lumia 620 has the smallest of display of 3.8-inch WVGA TFT. However the pixel density of all Lumia devices isn’t that great but you can say the ratio of 217ppi to 246ppi is quite relvant for such mid-range budget phones.
Comparing the power chips which are the main source to differentiate between the high-end and low-end smarphones in current scenerio we again stuck no where as all these Lumia devices has the same Dual Core Snapdragon chips injected under their displays. The Nokia Lumia 520, 620 and 720 all have the same 1 GHz Dual-Core Snapdragon Plus processors while the Lumia 820 has the better processor among all with 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 4 processor, we also know that this same cpu has been used in many mid-range Android devices as well. Nokia Lumia 520, 620, and 720 all fall in the same club by having the same Adreno 305 chips while the Lumia 820 has the Adreno 225 GPU chip.
Nokia Lumia 820 comes up with better RAM as well as it has 1GB of RAM inserted in while all others in club comes up with the same 512 mb of RAM. If we consider internal memory of the devices than won’t see any one found superior to other, all Lumia devices has the same 8GB of built in memory with the options of additional microSD card through which you can add another 32GB of memory whichever phone you pick.
Nokia always focuses on better camera and so all the above devices has better cameras as compared to the same price range devices found on Android platforms. Both Nokia Lumia 520 and 620 has that 5-megapixel camera mounted on the back while there is no front cam on Lumia 520 and an average VGA cam on Lumia 620’s front. The other two devices the Lumia 720 and 820 has the better camera chips, as Lumia 720 comes up with a stranger 6.7-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera lens while the other Lumia 820 comes up with the 8-megapixel camera unit with another 1.3 megapixel unit on the front.
The other important thing is the battery and all Lumia devices come up with the same battery sized battery units among them the Nokia Lumia 720 has the better battery of 2000 mAH while the Nokia Lumia 820 has the surprisingly lower capable battery of 1650 mAH.
The other thing that is strange is the prices difference depending on the region, a Lumia 820 form US will cost $50 more than the one found in Indian market while both of them might assembled in Chinese factories. Same is the case with other Lumia devices as well. So we can’t confirm any price range for these devices.
