Step 1: First of all open your WhatsApp messenger app on your BlackBerry device.
Step 2: Now swipe down the screen to access the Application Menu.
Step 3: On Application Menue, tap on Settings>> Media Settings >> Conversations.
Step 4: Taping on the Backup conversation will make your device to save your chat history and all the data with it. The name of the backup files may look like ” MessageStore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt”.
Step 5: Access the folder Device/misc./WhatsApp/ to get to the core backup files.
Step 6: Now you can save the required file from this folder and move to any other place or make a copy of it. “messageStore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt.current”.
That’s it You have the backup file saved on a safe place. Now if you remove WhatsApp application you can still have the chance to restore all your lost data if you have this file saved at the right place. In some of the BlackBerry devices like the Blackberry 7 smartphone you will have to store the Backup files on the microSD card. This is important as the message history will be removed with the removal of application from the internal storage.
If you have the microSD card available on your blackberry device, this is how to backup WhatsApp messages on BlackBerry smartphone:
1-> First of all Open WhatsApp application and tap on the settings tab.
2-> Now tap on the media settings > Message History > Media Card. The conversations will be saved on the media card.
3-> After that you have the eligibility to remove WhatsApp after your chats have stopped showing up.
4-> Now you can switch off the blackberry smartphone.
5-> Remove and replace the battery.
6-> Restart the phone.
7-> Open your BlackBerry Media folder tap Explore.
8-> Open Media Card tap databases, then tap on WhatsApp and look for the “messagestore.db” file.
9-> Rename it to “345messagestore.db”.
