Sprint updates Galaxy S5 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow

After releasing the Android Marshmallow update on Galaxy S5 in its home country and for the owners in Trinidad and Tobago in march, Samsung, a South Korean company has already indicated us to push the latest android OS version to other countries. As Samsung usually releases the first update of Android OS in its homeland then it is followed by international rollout for other markets.

However this time, one of the four largest mobile US carriers Sprint get into action to push the Android Marshmallow update for its Galaxy S5 users. The update marks the third major Android version to run on the two years old Galaxy flagship after the Lollipop and built-in KitKat.

The update has the size of 891.75MB and comes with the build number G900PVPU3CPCA and has Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow version. The Sprint owners of the galaxy S5 will be experiencing all features of Google’s OS including the runtime permissions, Doze Mode conserving battery life when in idle mode, Google Now on Tap, customizable app permissions, and many others. In addition, the update is said to be coming with new volume controls for notifications, audio and alarms and simplified screen capture.

Sprint says the OTA (over-the-air) update will be coming in phases started from April 07 and will be processing to each device by May 19. So keep patience until May 19th if Marshmallow update does not come with your device.
