Futuremark has finally released 3DMark for Android, a new benchmark that measures the graphical performance of your device and aims to become the best benchmark platform by reference to compare the performance of enabled device with Windows, Android and iOS.
Currently 3DMark is available for Windows and Android. In the near future it will be also for Windows RT and iOS. In Android we perform two tests (Ice Storm Ice Storm and Extreme) including various tests to measure the performance of the graphics card and processor of our device.
The new Ice Storm feature is designed for basic phones and tablets with the addition of OpenGL ES 2.0. The other feature Extreme Ice Storm is designed for more powerful devices to market tests in HD resolutions with high quality textures and better graphics effects. Once you pass the test the app will show a score sheet and the graph and a comparison figure sheet of the other devices.
3DMark for Android is free to download right now on Google Play to any device with Android 3.1 or higher and requires about 300 MB of available memory.
