More screen shots of KitKat OS has been leaked. These screenshots come from ZDNet, who got their hands on that what appear to be a gallery of screenshots of an Android 4.4 build running on a Nexus 7 2013. However, ZDNet haven’t specify the source from where they got the screenshots. Some of the features are already leaked like Download app, but there also some new stuff, such as a possible Easter egg in Android 4.4 KitKat.
In 4.4 KitKat when you tap multiple times on Android version, it reveals the Easter egg below. The KitKat logo shows up on backside of Android logo with styling color. But Operating System on the device is Key Lime pie. That could simply mean this is an older build, or it could simply mean Google has yet to remove references to Key Lime Pie in an effort to keep these leaks from seeming fresh and new. After all, if something were to leak with full on KitKat branding, that would most likely appear fresh and as a result, more exciting. The screenshots show Jelly Bean on the left with KitKat on the right. You will notice that the bold font is gone from the hour indicator. The images below are showing Design changes in Clock and Timer app, and changes in Downloads list and Stop watch clock.
Google changed the setting icon with implementation of Tap and Pay feature. Another interesting difference from what we have involves the settings, You will see an option called “Home”. We’re not sure what this is, but it could involve the new Google Experience launcher that was leaked a couple of days ago. But NFC payment system is not yet suggested. Google has put some effort into easier printing from Android devices beginning with KitKat. The turn on cloud print option shown in screenshot, enables print jobs to be sent from tablets, phones and notebooks over the web.
Previously we know Quick Office would be pre-installed in Android KitKat, but we get a screenshot showing us what has been done. Quick Office Showing Spread sheet, presentation and Word app. And another innovation brought in Android update is that, app drawer still feature a Widgets section and the black background.
