All you have to do is follow these step by step instructions given here to download and install the Android 4.4.2 KitKat on your Galaxy S4.
Step 1– First of all Download and Extract (unzip) the firmware file. [ here)
Step 3– Now you have to Extract Odin .ZIP file
Step 4– After that Open Odin3 v3.09 by clicking on the *.exe file.
Step 5– Now Restart phone in the download mode by Pressing and holding Home + Power + Volume down buttons
Step 6– After your phone resets in download mode,Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin

Step 7– Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked because it can formate your device.
Step 8– Now all you have to do is Click on the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes, The automatic process of flashing will start.
Step 9– If you encounter any issues with the firmware (Any FC, Bootloop etc)
Step 10– Boot into recovery mode (Home+power+vol up)
Step 11– Choose to wipe/factory reset. (THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD!)
Step 12 – Then choose reboot and you should be good to go!
