Facebook enables Video Calling feature on Messenger.

Now a days video calling feature is not a big announcement but unfortunately Facebook previously had not added the video calling feature in their messenger apps both for Android and iOS.

Facebook realized that this common and essential feature was missing from their messenger so they decided to come up with a new feature of video calling and now you can see a movie camera type icon in the messenger app once you open the contact after the name of a contact their appears a video camera icon and if you click that icon you will be connected to a video call with that person, and to make it clear this feature has not been added for every Facebook messenger but to few geographical areas including Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Ireland, Laos, Lithuania, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, the UK, the US and Uruguay making them 18 in total.

This is not a big achievement for such a big social platform to add such a basic feature in their app, however this should had been added at least 3 years back from now. People used to make a video call from different apps like Tango, Skype, and Facetime (iOS) so if it was added a few years back also on Facebook messenger then till now they must have captured their customers and by now they would have made them loyal to them, instead of downloading other third party apps they would have opted Facebook messenger app.

However it is learned that video calling experience on Facebook messenger is really good and people are pretty much satisfied from messenger video calling as it improves the real time experience with your associates and family. Facebook also acquired Whatsapp, now it costs $0.99 annually but it is still free in some developing country and Mark Zukerburg had previously added this calling feature in Whatsapp on Android and recently on iOS.

Before video calling, Facebook messenger gave an option of voice call which is obviously still available on Facebook messenger. It was observed that when messenger was made independent from Facebook it has added number of features in it for example sending money to your friends and much more. Facebook messenger also is responsible from 10% of the total VoIP calls all over the internet and now it is providing a video calling feature. Facebook messenger video call can be made on both Wifi and Data connection by your service provider and this is also possible to receive a call from Android to iOS Facebook messenger.

A lot more is to come but till then we are waiting for Facebook messenger to provide their video calling facility in all parts across the continents so that the purpose of making this world a global village is fulfilled.
