How to download and install Android 4.4 KitKat on PC running Windows.

Make sure that you have 32-Bit (x86) version of windows installed so that you can download the required Android x86 ISO file for windows and install it using the USB Flash bootable drive or any Bootable CD or DVD by following all the steps given in this guide below.  But first of all you must know that this guide can be applied to following version of Android OS.

Download These Files:

Download Android x86 ISO Files (Select most appropriate version)

Download UNetbootin Tool to create bootable USB thumb drive (Link 2)

Once you downloaded those files given above all you need is to have a USB Flash Drive or a Bootable CD/DVD ready for this process. Make sure that you must have atleast 10 GB of free hard disk space on your computer if your are intending to download and install the latest version of Android 4.4.4 on your PC currently available. Similarly if you want to install Android Jelly Bean 4.2 or 4.3 then you might need 8 GB of free space while the Older Android version like Android Froyo or Android Ice Cream Sandwich will need only 2 GB of Space.

How to Install Android on Windows PC Running Windows as Dual Boot:

To install Android on Windows PC as a Dual Boot OS, all you need to do is follow these steps to get this done.

Step 1: First of all you need to download the appropriate Android x-86 ISO file from the given link above.

Step 2: After that you will have to download UNetbootin Tool on your PC or Laptop running Windows.

Step 3: Now that you have downloaded both files, Open the UNetbootin Tool and make a bootable USB flash drive with the ISO image file that you have downloaded above.


Step 4: For that you have to click on the Disk image button and browse to the file you downloaded.

Step 5: Now your PC will restart if not Restart it Manually and boot it with your Flash Drive that you have just made Bootable in above step.

Step 6: Now wait and When the menu appears, just select Install Android x86 to hard disk.

Step 7: Now Select the Hard Drive you want to install the Android OS, e.g C:\ or D:\  or make a new partition and install this Android OS on it.

Step 8: Once the Installation starts, You will get a few prompts messages pertaining to installation of GRUB Bootloader. Make sure to allow it to install.

Step 9: While the installation process you will receive a prompt message that will ask you to make System /r /w. So if you want to modify your Android x-86 installation you have to hit Yes.

Step 10: Now  If you’re installing ICS or earlier Android firmwares, you will get another prompt to install virtual SD card. Use 1800 MB for space, as that’s the maximum supported.

Step  11: Once done, All you have to do is Restart your Windows PC.

That’s it Once the reboot done you can select the option of either to boot to Windows or Android OS. Congratulations you have successfully downloaded and installed Android 4.4 KitKat on your PC Running Windows.
