LG has officially revealed two new budgeted Phones of K Series, the LG K8 and K5. The LG K8 comes with slightly higher end features while the K5 seems a more budget friendly. Both devices will be provided to emerging markets soon.
LG K8 features a 5-inch screen with 720p display resolution and supported by a MediaTek 1.3 GHz Quad Core MT6735 SoC processor. It will come with 8GB or 32 GB of internal storage option with a microSD slot, 8 Megapixel rear camera and 5 Megapixel front facing camera, and a removable battery with 2,125mAh capacity. The Phone’s RAM comes vary slightly by region, 1GB RAM projected for Latin America while 1.5GB for rest of the World. More importantly, LG K8 is packed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
The phone has woven back cover, which increases some extra grip. There is also frame comes with metal around the handset’s edge for a sleek appearance. The phone is 4G LTE, and NFC supported and will come in White, Gold and Indigo color options.
The LG K5 features a 5-inch display with a 480 x 854 resolution also supported by MediaTek 1.3 GHz Quad Core MT6735 SoC processor. It will come with 8GB of internal storage with a microSD slot for external storage, 5 Megapixel rear camera and 2 Megapixel front facing camera, and a removable battery with 1,900mAh capacity. K5 is also 4G LTE supported and will come in White, Gold, Titan and Silver color options. But LG has provided Android 5.1 Lollipop OS for the phone.
LG said the K8 will initially release for Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and CIS markets while the LG K5 will be launched in Europe, Latin America and CIS, and will be named as LG Q6 in Mexico. However, the company has not revealed the date for launch and prices of these phones yet.
