Samsung to launch Tizen mobile in India and Russia soon.

Samsung seems ready to introduce their long awaited tizen OS smartphones starting from Russia and India in coming weeks. We already have the reports quoting Samsung mobile makers to announce 2 new handsets running tizen OS in this quarter and most probably these are made to target the emerging markets like India, Africa, middle east or east European states where Nokia already have strong hold with its low end Nokia Asha devices running Symbian based Nokia OS.

The event for the launch of first tizen phone is to be held in Moscow in a special unpacked event. The launch indicates that the device will be made available for Russian customers first and later it will be introduced to Indian users. We have reports that Samsung looking forward to have a deal wit Japan’s NTT Docomo Cellular network and the French Orange Network to launch the devices, which were cancelled later due the lack of public interest. So Samsung turns its strategy of such devices to emerging markets.

According to the most credible news source @evleaks there might be 4 devices running the Tizen OS to be announced by Samsung in the first go. This include the devices with model number SM-Z500, SM-Z700, SM-Z900 and SM-Z910.  If we look back to the rumors spread last year the makers at Samsung tends to introduce a High-End Tizen device and a mid range one. But looking all these new model names it suggests that the company is looking forward to introduce 2 high end devices along with 2 mid range ones. Here is the tweet posted on @evleaks.

Samsung’s shift to the Tizen Operating System is the urge to compete with the demands of such low end devices in the development markets like India, Africa and some Easteren European states where Nokia is making some good sales with their Nokia Asha series devices recently. Samsung looks to steal that chunk of the market too as they are already at the top of the smartphone makers market and successfully selling around 400 million Smartphones all over the globe annually.

The aims of the company has been highlighted in the recent remarks given by the Vice President of Samsung’s Product Strategy Mr. Yoon Han-Kil. He stated that the tizen running smartphones will account for up to 15% of the Samsung’s total smartphone shipment. This shows that in coming Quarter the newly born Tizen OS devices under the Samsung logo will make the shelves of development markets.
