This PUBG weapon tier list ranks the guns in PUBG: Battlegrounds on PC by damage, recoil control and how easy they are to find. The M416, Groza, AKM, AWM and Kar98K lead the list, while the Panzerfaust, Mortar and K2 sit at the bottom.

A good PUBG weapon tier list has to account for loot. The AWM and Groza hit hard but only drop from airdrops, so the ground-loot guns often matter more in a real match. We note that where it applies, and we keep this list to PUBG PC, not PUBG Mobile, because the two games rank weapons differently.

Best PUBG Weapons, Explained

• M416: the most controllable assault rifle when fully kitted, and the safest all-round pick.
• Groza: the highest fire rate of any assault rifle, with strong close-to-mid time to kill, but it is airdrop only.
• AKM: the highest damage per bullet among ground-loot assault rifles, though its recoil is heavy.
• AWM: a .300 Magnum sniper that penetrates helmets up to Level 3, but its ammo is scarce and airdrop only.
• Kar98K: the ground-loot sniper that one-shots Level 2 helmets.
• Vector: the fastest SMG fire rate for close range, with a small base magazine.

Best Weapon by Range

• Close range: Vector, JS9 and the S12K for shotgun players.
• Mid range: M416, ACE32 and UMP45, which stay controllable in longer fights.
• Long range: Kar98K, M24, SLR and Mk14 EBR, with the AWM if you find one in a drop.

Simple PUBG Loadouts That Work

• Safe all-rounder: M416 as your main gun and a Kar98K or M24 for long-range picks.
• Aggressive: AKM or Groza for close-to-mid fights, with a Vector or JS9 as your secondary for building clears.
• Mid-range DMR: SLR or Mk14 EBR paired with an M416, so you can win both open fields and compounds.
• Budget: if you only find B-tier weapons such as the SCAR-L or Mini-14, they are still viable with decent attachments.

The C tier is a warning list, not a ban list. Use the K2, PP-19 Bizon or S686 only when nothing better is available, and swap as soon as you find an A-tier or S-tier gun nearby.

Where Guides Disagree

PUBG weapon rankings vary a lot between sources. PUBG Mobile lists, for example, rank the P90, Groza, Mk14 and AWM at the very top, and they are not valid for PC. Other 2026 PC guides single out the ACE32 and praise the Beryl M762 for damage, but this list leaves the Beryl out. Treat any tier list as a starting point and test guns on the training ground.
