The Core 5 Lexia login lets students open their Lexia Core5 Reading lessons from a school account. This guide shows how to log in to Lexia Core5 in 7 steps, using the Clever and Active Directory sign-in that many districts use, with a screenshot for each stage.
Schools set up the Core 5 Lexia login in different ways, so your screens may look a little different. The example below follows Jeffco Public Schools, where students choose Log in with Clever, pick Active Directory, and then sign in with their Student ID number.
What Is Lexia Core5 Reading?
Lexia Core5 Reading is an online reading program that schools use to practice foundational reading skills. Students open it from a browser or an app, sign in with the account their school gave them, and work through activities at their own pace.
Before You Start
- Your school login details, such as a Student ID number and password.
- The Core5 login page, which your teacher or school website links to.
- Your teacher’s email address, in case a new device asks you to set it up first.
How to Complete the Core 5 Lexia Login (7 Steps)

- Open the Lexia Core5 login page and click Log in with Clever
- Click Log in with Active Directory
- Click the Username box
- Type your Student ID number
- Click the Password box
- Type your password
- Click Sign in
Step 1: Open Lexia Core5 Reading and click Log in with Clever
Open the Lexia Core5 Reading login page and make sure the Student tab is selected. Then click Log in with Clever. On a brand-new device, Core5 may first ask you to set up the device by entering your teacher’s email address and clicking Save.
Step 2: Click Log in with Active Directory
Clever shows your district’s sign-in options. In this example, click Log in with Active Directory. If you see the wrong district, use the Not your district? link.
Step 3: Click the Username box
On the district sign-in page, click the Username field.
Step 4: Type your Student ID number
Type your Student ID number in the Username box.
Step 5: Click the Password box
Click the Password field below your username.
Step 6: Type your password
In this district example, students type their birth date in the format MMDDYYYY. Your school will tell you the right password format for your account.
Step 7: Click Sign in
Click the blue Sign in button. You are done, and Core5 opens your lessons.
Core 5 Lexia Login Not Working?
- Wrong Student ID: check the number your teacher gave you and retype it.
- Password rejected: ask your teacher for the correct format, because it can differ by school.
- Wrong district: use the Not your district? link and search for your school.
- The site says it does not run in a browser: some phones and tablets must use the Core5 app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Still stuck: contact your school’s technology support.
Tips for Students and Parents
- Use the same device each day, so you do not repeat device setup.
- Keep your Student ID number and password private.
- Sign out when you finish on a shared computer.
- Ask your teacher before you create or change any account.
