The method we are going to adopt to root your Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 is quite simple and easy and you won’t require you to fully wipe out your device by flashing the pre-rooted factory image. You will not have to bother about getting any skills with adb. So what I want to say is just follow the steps and It will be easy to get your device rooted.

It will require some tools which we have enlisted in a proper way, you have to make them ready to go through this operation, any tool missing and you will stuck with the operation.

Tools needed to Root Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4:

  1.  First of All download and Install Samsung Official USB Drivers from HERE.
  2. Next you will need the latest version of ODIN v3.07 , which can be downloaded HERE.
  3. Than you have to download the VRUAMD2 Prerelease Kernel file from this LINK.
  4. Also download the VRUAMDK Stock Kernel file from this LINK.
  5. At last download the most important tool is the Motochopper Root Exploit Tool from HERE

How Root the Samsung Galaxy S4 Verizon:

NOTE: ** These steps that we are going to write here have been originally taken from the XDA developers forum, which have been found the best way to describe the Root process for your Samsung Galaxy S4 Verizon version. 

  1. Boot phone into ODIN mode (See here for how-to)
  2. Flash the VRUAMD2 Prerelease Kernel using ODIN v3.07 ***in PDA section only*** (See here for guide on flashing)
  3. Boot back to Android and verifying everything is still working and kernel has flashed successfully

Step 1:

  1. Verify in Security setting on your device that you have “Unknown sources” checked
  2. Verify in Developer options setting on your device that you have “USB debugging” checked
  3. Verify in Developer options setting on your device that you have “Verify apps via USB” unchecked
  4. Connect your phone to your computer and open “Run.bat” file from the location you have extracted motochopper to
  5. If successful, after your phone reboots, check if SuperSU has any update in the Play Store
  6. Open SuperSU app and let the binary update itself to the latest ***VERY IMPORTANT OR YOU WILL LOSE ROOT ON STEP 2***
  7. Once complete, just open a root application and verify that is able to access root properly

Step 2:

  1. Boot phone into ODIN mode (See here for how-to)
  2. Flash the VRUAMDK Stock Kernel using ODIN v3.07 ***in PDA section only*** (See here for guide on flashing)
  3. Boot back to Android and verifying everything is still working and kernel has flashed successfully
  4. After your phone boots back to Android, you should now be fully rooted and on the fully original stock firmware as the device came

After doing this you can sit back and relax and reboot your device to get the rooted version up and running. Anyways your device is now ready to test on newly modded or hacked games and apps.
