Nokia X Announced, the first ever low end Android running device by Nokia.


So finally we have the first ever Android running Nokia device officially announced after lots of leaked reports about the phone which was first named as Nokia Normandy. This new Android loaded Nokia phone is named as Nokia X and there are 3 variants of the device have been released for the customers with models like Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL. Both the Nokia X and Nokia X+ are almost the same while the Nokia XL has a bigger screen as compared to other two.

The new Nokia X family has all the flavours of Android device coated with Windows Phone 8 user interface. The makers of this first ever Android loaded Nokia device made sure to remain with in the premises of their design and User interface looks. The device design is inherited from the trademark Nokia Lumia device design, while the User Interface is also looks and feels the same as of the Windows Phone 8 device.

If we go deep in to the specs sheet all the “Nokia X” series phones i.e, Nokia X, X+ and XL have almost the same specifications except the larger screen size and better camera in the Nokia XL. All the devices have a low end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8225 Chipset Dual Core processor with the clock speed of 1GHz. Previously the same processor has been found in low end Nokia Lumia devices such as Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 620.

Beside this the Nokia X  is powered by 512 MB of RAM while the Nokia XL and X+ has a bump with 768MB of RAM available, while  all the variants have 4GB of internal memory which is expandable upto 32GB with the help of microSD card, the card slot is present under the removable cover which helps in removing the battery as well.


The Nokia X and X+ has the 4 inch IPS LCD display with the resolution of 800 x 480, while the Nokia XL has the same resolution display but has a bigger 5-inch display with 233 ppi density screen. On camera department the Nokia X and X+ have a 3 mega pixel camera at the back while the Nokia XL has a better 5 megapixel unit as the main camera. The Nokia X and X+ has 1500mAh battery fitted on the back which is remove-able. Nokia claims that the Maximum standby time with dual SIM with this battery is 30 days while Maximum 3G talk time is over 13 Hours while you can have music play back time of 37 hours.


The Nokia X will be available to buy immediately in Asia Pacific, Europe, india, Latin America, the Middle-East and Africa. The Nokia X+ and XL are expected to be available from Q2 2014.

The other main thing about this phone unlike other Android phone it is not Google’s certified project so it will not run any Google Play Services or stock apps like Play Store, Gmail or Chrome are not pre installed in the device. Despite the Nokia X series phones come up with the Microsft Key services including the Outlook, One Cloud or Sky Drive etc  as the stock apps for the Nokia X device. However one of the most important Android app the Swift Key keyboard will be made available for Nokia X users for free as reported by Cnet.
