The First Descendant Tier List: Best Descendants (2026)
The First Descendant tier list ranks every Descendant by how well they clear bosses, farm dungeons and solo content, so you can spend your resources on a character who actually carries. We sorted the roster from S to D using the Season 4 Episode 1 balance ranking, with extra notes on the strongest picks.
Raven, Serena and Blair lead the current list, followed by Luna, Kyle, Harris, Valby and Freyna. Rankings were built from optimized builds, so a character can feel weaker until you get the right modules and weapons. Different guides also disagree on a few names, which we flag below.

How We Rank Descendants
- Bossing: single-target damage against Colossus bosses.
- Mobbing: area damage for dungeons and farming.
- Versatility: the overall ranking balances both, so a flexible character can beat a specialist.
- Build dependence: some Descendants are strong right away, while others need Transcendent Modules to shine.
The First Descendant Tier List (Season 4 Episode 1)
The First Descendant tier list below is compressed to five tiers. Our S tier matches the source’s SS tier, and the C row covers the source’s B tier. The source had no C tier, and its D tier holds one Descendant.
Based on the Season 4 Episode 1 overall ranking. Other 2026 guides place Gley, Bunny and Valby higher.
Best Descendants in The First Descendant, Explained
- Raven: a Non-Attribute Descendant who uses crows for both single-target and area damage. She has fast movement and strong Transcendent Modules, and she is effective for farming, dungeons and bossing.
- Serena: the first Descendant who can fly. Her fourth skill, Redemption, boosts weapon damage to extreme levels and scales with max HP. Because her damage comes from weapons, she needs a maxed-out weapon.
- Blair: a Fire Descendant who places flame zones that stack burn damage and can wipe rooms before enemies reach him. His ultimate melts Colossus bosses.
- Luna: a support who buffs allies with music. She has great area damage but weaker single-target damage, and she shines in organized groups.
- Kyle: a light tank built around magnetic fields that create barriers and repel enemies.

Where Guides Disagree
The First Descendant tier list is not settled. Some 2026 guides place Bunny and Serena in their top tier, Gley and Valby near the top, and Ajax anywhere from S tier to B tier. Bossing lists often rank Gley higher than overall lists do.
The easiest fix is to check which season a guide covers. A tier list from before Season 4 will not include the latest balance changes.
How to Use The First Descendant Tier List
- Pick one top-tier Descendant and build a proper setup before collecting others.
- Decide whether you want a bossing, mobbing or all-round character. Raven, Serena and Blair are strong at both.
- Invest in Transcendent Modules. They can completely change a character’s playstyle.
- Do not write off lower tiers. Skilled players can make any Descendant work, and a well-built Gley or Bunny still performs.
- Re-check the list after each season update.

The First Descendant Tier List FAQ
Who is the best Descendant right now?
Raven, Serena and Blair share the top tier in the Season 4 Episode 1 overall ranking, and all three are strong at both bossing and farming.
Is Gley still good?
Yes. Gley sits in the third tier in this list, but other guides rank Gley much higher, especially for bossing.
Do I need a specific weapon for Serena?
Yes. Serena’s damage comes from weapons, so a maxed-out weapon is key to her strength.
