Minecraft Shape Generator: 8 Easy Shapes for Perfect Builds
Minecraft Shape Generator
Design perfect 2D and 3D pixel-block structures: Spheres, Circles, Pyramids, Domes, Cylinders, Rings, Squares, and Diamonds with layer-by-layer blueprints!
The Minecraft Shape Generator above plans round and angled builds for you, one block at a time. Pick a shape, set the size, and it shows exactly which blocks to place on every layer. It also counts how many blocks you need. It works for circles, rings, squares, diamonds, spheres, domes, cylinders and pyramids, from 3 to 80 blocks wide.
Minecraft is made of cubes, so curves are hard to build by eye. Most players end up with lumpy towers and egg-shaped domes. This tool removes the guesswork, so you can copy a clean pattern straight into your world.
What Is a Minecraft Shape Generator?
A Minecraft Shape Generator is a planning tool that turns a smooth shape into a pixel grid. Each square on the grid is one block. You follow the grid in your game, and the curve comes out round and even.
Builders use it for:
- Castle towers and round walls
- Domes for bases, greenhouses and temples
- Glass spheres for underwater or sky bases
- Circular farms, fountains and arenas
- Pyramids and diamond-shaped floors

How to Use the Minecraft Shape Generator
- Choose a shape. 2D shapes (circle, ring, square, diamond) give you one flat layer. 3D shapes (sphere, dome, cylinder, pyramid) give you a stack of layers.
- Set the size. Tap a quick size such as 13, 25 or 45 blocks, or type your own width and height. Use the -5, -1, +1 and +5 buttons to fine-tune it. The limit is 3 to 80 blocks.
- Pick a fill mode.
- Hollow (Shell) draws a one-block outline. Best for walls and glass domes.
- Thick Wall gives a stronger, two-block wall that has no gaps when viewed from an angle.
- Solid Filled fills the whole shape. Use it for floors, platforms and solid statues.
- Read the stats. The tool shows the total block count, the blocks on the current layer, and how many stacks of 64 you need. Gather that amount before you start.
- Build layer by layer. For 3D shapes, use the layer slider or the Layer Up and Layer Down buttons. Layer 1 is the bottom. Build it, then move up one.
- Mark your progress. Click a block on the grid to mark it as placed. Your marks are saved per layer, so you never lose your place on a big build.
- Save the plan. Download it as a PNG image or an SVG blueprint and keep it open on a second screen or your phone.

Tips for Better Round Builds
Odd or even diameter?
Use an odd number (like 13, 25 or 45) when you want one center block. That makes it easy to line up doors, pillars and beacons. Even sizes have a 2×2 center, which suits double doors and wide paths. The quick sizes in the tool are all odd for this reason.
Bigger looks smoother
Small circles look blocky because there are few blocks to make the curve. Around 15 blocks and up, circles start to look properly round. For spheres and domes, 25 blocks or more gives a clean result.
Mark the center first
Place a colored block at the center of your build site before you start. Count out from it using the grid. If you make a mistake, you can always measure back from the center.
Use scaffolding for tall builds
Spheres and tall cylinders need a way up. Scaffolding is quick to climb and breaks all at once when you remove the bottom piece. In Creative mode you can just fly.
Thick walls for glass
Hollow glass spheres can show small diagonal gaps in the corners. Switch the tool to Thick Wall to close them. It costs more blocks but looks much cleaner.
How Many Blocks Do You Need?
Block counts grow fast as shapes get bigger. A hollow sphere uses far fewer blocks than a solid one of the same size, because only the outer shell is filled. That is why the Minecraft Shape Generator shows the total count and the number of stacks of 64 for your exact settings. Check it before you start mining or crafting, so you don’t run out halfway through. Planning to spend on Bedrock Marketplace builds instead? Our Minecoins to USD calculator shows what they really cost.
For survival builds, a shulker box holds 27 stacks (1,728 blocks). If the tool says you need more than that, bring extra shulker boxes.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you make a perfect circle in Minecraft?
You can’t make a truly perfect circle because every block is a cube. You can make one that looks round by following a pixel circle pattern. Set the shape to Circle in the Minecraft Shape Generator, choose your diameter, and copy the grid block by block.
How do you make a sphere in Minecraft?
A sphere is a stack of circles that get bigger toward the middle and smaller toward the top. Pick Sphere in the tool, set the diameter, and build one layer at a time, starting from Layer 1 at the bottom. Mark blocks as you place them so you don’t lose track.
How do you build a dome in Minecraft?
A dome is the top half of a sphere. Choose Dome in the generator, set the width to match your base, and build upward layer by layer. Use Hollow mode for a roof, or Thick Wall if you are using glass.
Is there a circle generator for Minecraft?
Yes. The free tool at the top of this page works as a circle generator, and it also makes rings, spheres, domes, cylinders and pyramids. It runs in your browser, so there is nothing to download or install. It works whichever edition you play; if you’re unsure which one suits you, read our guide on which Minecraft version is best.
What is the best size for a circle in Minecraft?
Odd sizes such as 13, 25 or 45 work best because they have a single center block. Circles look smoother from about 15 blocks wide. Very small circles (under 7 blocks) look more like octagons.
How many blocks are in a Minecraft circle?
It depends on the diameter and whether the circle is hollow or filled. A filled circle uses roughly 78% of the blocks of a square of the same width. The Minecraft Shape Generator gives you the exact count for your settings.
Can you make circles in Minecraft without a mod?
Yes. You don’t need mods, plugins or WorldEdit. Just follow the block pattern from the generator by hand. This works in Java Edition, Bedrock Edition and on consoles. If Java Edition won’t start, see how to fix the Could Not Create the Java Virtual Machine error.
How do you make a cylinder or round tower in Minecraft?
Choose Cylinder, set the width of the tower and its height. Every layer of a cylinder is the same circle, so once you build the first layer you just repeat it upward.
Does the Minecraft Shape Generator work on mobile?
Yes. The tool works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Many players keep it open on their phone while they build on a PC or console.
Final Words
Round builds are one of the quickest ways to make a Minecraft world look impressive, and they don’t need to be hard. Use the Minecraft Shape Generator to plan the shape, check your block count, and build it one layer at a time. Playing tabletop games too?
