View Browsing History Amazon: 3-Step Guide (2026)
View browsing history Amazon is one of the quickest account checks you can do: it shows the items you recently looked at, even if you never bought them. This guide shows how to view your browsing history on Amazon in 3 simple steps, with a screenshot for each one.
You do not need any app or tool. Sign in to your Amazon account, open the Account & Lists menu, and pick Browsing History. The whole process takes less than a minute, and the same steps help you find a product you saw earlier and forgot to save.

What Is Amazon Browsing History?
Amazon browsing history is a list of the products and pages you opened while signed in to your account. Amazon uses it to build the “Recommended for you” suggestions you see around the site, and it lets you jump back to an item without searching for it again.
Before You Start
- Sign in to Amazon. History is tied to your account, so you must be logged in.
- Use the same account you browsed with. If you have more than one account, use the Switch Accounts link in the same menu.
- Use a computer or a mobile browser. The menu names can differ slightly between devices.
How to View Browsing History on Amazon
Follow the three steps below to view browsing history Amazon shows for your account. Each step has a screenshot, so you can match what you see on screen.
Step 1: Open Amazon and hover over Account & Lists
Go to Amazon and move your mouse over the Account & Lists tab in the top-right corner. A menu opens with two columns: Your Lists on the left and Your Account on the right.

Step 2: Click Browsing History
In the Your Account column, click Browsing History. It sits near the top, just below Account.

Step 3: Review your browsing history
Amazon opens the Your Browsing History page. Recently viewed items appear here, and there is a Manage history drop-down at the top right. If you have not viewed anything lately, the page says you have no recently viewed items. That is it, you are done.

What You Can Do on the Browsing History Page
- Jump back to an item: click any product you recently viewed.
- Use Manage history: open this drop-down to control how your history is kept, such as removing items.
- Check your recommendations: the links at the top, including Recommended For You and Improve Your Recommendations, show how Amazon uses your activity.
Why View Your Browsing History on Amazon?
- Find a product again: if you saw something last week and forgot its name, history gets you back to it quickly.
- Compare prices: reopen items you looked at before deciding what to buy.
- Protect your privacy: checking your list shows you what your account has recorded.
- Fix your recommendations: remove items that no longer match what you want to see.
If you share a computer or a family account, it is also a good habit to view browsing history on Amazon from time to time and remove anything you would rather not keep.
Browsing History Missing or Empty?
- You were signed out: items viewed while logged out do not appear in your account history.
- You cleared it before: if you removed items earlier, they will not come back.
- Different account: switch to the account you used while browsing.
- Menu looks different: Amazon updates its layout from time to time, so look for the same names, Account & Lists and Browsing History.
