Is Path of Exile 2 Cross Platform? Crossplay Guide (2026)
Yes. Path of Exile 2 supports full crossplay and cross-progression across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A PC player can party with friends on PS5 and Xbox with no barriers, and one character can move between all three.
This guide covers which platforms are included, how cross-progression works, couch co-op rules, and how to play with friends on another system.

The Short Answer: Yes, Full Crossplay
Grinding Gear Games built crossplay into Path of Exile 2 from the start of early access. PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S players share the same servers and can party together freely.
Cross-progression is included too. Link your accounts once, and your characters follow you from PC to console and back. You never start over when you switch devices. Crossplay has worked since the first day of early access, so the systems are mature and stable by now.
Which Platforms Support Crossplay
The game runs on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. All three support crossplay with each other. There are no PS4, Xbox One, or Switch versions, so last-gen consoles are out entirely.
| Platform | Crossplay |
|---|---|
| PC | Yes |
| PlayStation 5 | Yes |
| Xbox Series X|S | No version exists |
| PS4, Xbox One, Switch | No version exists |
Cross-Progression: How It Works
Your characters live on your Path of Exile account, not on your console. Link your PlayStation Network or Xbox account to that Path of Exile account, pick the sub-account that holds your characters, and they appear on every platform.
One catch: purchases stay platform-specific. Stash tabs and cosmetics bought on PC do not automatically appear on PlayStation. Pick one main platform for spending money to avoid surprises.
Release note: the game entered early access on December 6, 2024, and the full 1.0 launch is set for December 11, 2026 as a free-to-play title. Crossplay and cross-progression work during early access and carry straight into the full release.

How to Play With Friends on Another Platform
It is simple. Add your friend’s Path of Exile account ID, or invite them through the in-game social and friends menu. There are no platform-specific invite codes and no extra apps to install.
- Open the social menu in game.
- Add your friend by their Path of Exile account name.
- Send a party invite. They can accept from any supported platform.
- Want a platform-only lobby? Turn crossplay off in the settings.
Parties hold up to six players, and crossplay covers the whole game: campaign acts, endgame maps, dungeons, and hub areas. Trading and guilds work across platforms too, and the in-game chat lets you coordinate with friends wherever they play. Couch Co-Op: Two Players, One Screen
Path of Exile 2 also offers local couch co-op. Two players share one screen on a single device. You can play together on one account, or log in with two separate Path of Exile accounts on the same platform.
If your guest creates their own account during the session, they can take that character and keep playing on their own setup later. It is a smooth way to introduce a friend to the game. Note that couch co-op needs both players on the same device, so it cannot mix platforms the way online parties can.
What Crossplay Does Not Include
There is no last-gen version, so PS4 and Xbox One players cannot join in. The multiplayer is co-op only for now, with no PvP mode. And while characters transfer freely, paid stash tabs and cosmetics may not follow you between storefronts, so spend where you play most.
