Ranked for the current MapleStory Classic World cap (second job). We will update this list when third job opens.

How we ranked the classes

Classic World is still in second job, so we ranked each branch for what it can do right now, not what it will become later. We looked at level 70 damage numbers, how fast each class levels alone, how useful it is in parties and how much it costs to play. S tier classes are great at almost everything. B tier classes are still good, but they shine more in parties or later on.

Best class for beginners

If this is your first time, pick Hunter or Fighter. Hunter stays at range and clears mobs with Arrow Bomb, so it is safe and fast. Fighter has lots of HP, Power Guard and Rage, so mistakes rarely get you killed.

Best class for bossing

Bandit has the best single-target damage in second job thanks to Savage Blow. F/P Wizard is slower to level but becomes a solid boss mage later.

Best support classes

  • Cleric: party heals and Bless, plus huge damage to undead.
  • Spearman: Hyper Body raises max HP and MP for everyone.
  • Page: Threaten lowers enemy attack and defence.

FAQ

What is the best class in MapleStory Classic?

Right now Bandit, Fighter and Hunter are the best classes in MapleStory Classic World. Bandit has the top single-target damage, Fighter is the safest melee class and Hunter levels the fastest.

What is the worst class in MapleStory Classic?

Islander is the weakest because it never gets a real job. Among normal jobs, Cleric and F/P Wizard are the slowest to level alone, but both are good in parties or later on.

Is Cleric good in MapleStory Classic?

Cleric is weak solo but very strong in a party. Heal keeps everyone alive and deals big damage to undead mobs.

Does MapleStory Classic have third job?

Not yet. Classic World is currently capped at second job, and this tier list will be updated when third job is released.
