Do You Need a Master Code?

Some Pokémon Emerald codes only work once a master code is active, and the master code has to be the first entry in your cheat list. Others — most wild Pokémon modifiers, for example — run fine without one. If a code does nothing at all, a missing master code is the first thing to check.

GameShark and Action Replay codes are interchangeable here: the same strings work on either device. They are not case sensitive, and the spaces between blocks of digits are only there for readability, so you can type them with or without.
