How to Use the Built-In Cheat System in Pokémon Lazarus

Pokémon Lazarus simplifies cheat code usage with an integrated in-game system. You will not need external devices or complex emulator settings. Follow these straightforward steps to activate cheats.

Find the Cheat System Device: The cheat system is located inside the laboratory where you received your starter Pokémon. Return to this first lab to find the dedicated device for code input.
Enter Cheat Codes Exactly: Type your chosen code precisely as shown. Pay close attention to uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and symbols. Even a single typo will prevent the cheat from working.
Confirm and Activate: Press the “OK” or “Confirm” button on your game screen after entering the code. The cheat effect will occur immediately. For item cheats, check your bag.

Remember that item-granting cheats cannot be reversed, so save your game before redeeming any code. Toggle-style cheats like JUSTCATCH! can be switched back off by entering the code a second time.

Traditional Code Format and Important Considerations

Some sites list old-style GameShark or emulator hex codes for Pokémon Lazarus, but those belong to a different system and are not needed here. The official cheat system uses simple word codes entered in-game, and every code in this guide comes from the creator’s official cheat code library.

Pokémon Lazarus is built on the Emerald engine and includes features like the Physical/Special split, Pokémon from Generations 1-9, and a day-night cycle. Using cheats can alter your experience of these core features. It is always wise to save your game before trying a new cheat code. Furthermore, using cheats excessively can diminish the game’s challenge and overall enjoyment. For a balanced experience, consider using cheats primarily for quality-of-life improvements or after you have completed the main story.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best cheat code for money in Pokémon Lazarus?

The GIMMENUGS! Code is the most effective for money. It gives you 99 Nuggets, which you can sell at any Poké Mart for a large amount of cash, funding all your in-game purchases.

Can I disable cheats after using them?

It depends on the cheat. Effects like JUSTCATCH! can typically be toggled off by entering the code again. However, cheats that give you items, like 9RARECANDY, are permanent and cannot be undone.

Are there any risks to using these cheats?

The in-game cheats from the official system are generally safe. The main risk is potentially ruining your own fun by making the game too easy. Always save before using a code, and use them in moderation to preserve the intended game balance.

Where exactly is the cheat system located?

You can find the cheat system device inside the very first laboratory where you chose your starter Pokémon. You need to return to that building to access it.

Do these cheats work on all emulators?

Yes, the in-game cheat codes work universally because they are a built-in feature of the Pokémon Lazarus ROM hack itself. The method is the same whether you are using mGBA,

VisualBoyAdvance, or any other emulator.

Expired Pokémon Lazarus Cheat Codes

There are currently no expired Pokémon Lazarus cheat codes. These Pokémon Lazarus cheats are built directly into the game patch rather than issued as time-limited promo codes, so they do not expire. If any demo-era codes are ever retired, they will be listed here.
