It's Official: Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Hits Switch 2 with 4-Player Online Mode & More!

SEGA has confirmed that Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut will launch on June 5, 2025, as a title for the new Nintendo Switch 2 console. This announcement comes with an enhanced version of the prequel Yakuza 0, which was critically acclaimed. This definitive edition aims to be the all-in-one package of this crime epic series by promising to add significant new feats and content that fans expect.

The original release of Yakuza 0 received critical acclaim. In Yakuza 0, gamers navigate through the 1988 Japan economic bubble, where robust characters pulsate within the dazzling neon and rhythm of the streets.

The game focuses on two characters: Kazuma Kiryu, a series protagonist in Tokyo’s Kamurocho, and Gogo Majima, a flamboyant figure in Osaka’s Sotenbori. The game perfectly combines the pulse-pounding beat-’em-up juggernaut brawler gameplay with, captivating drama-infused crime plot brimming with a captivating story and rich era-themed side activities and mini-games. The game is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC and has already garnered immense love from fans.

As previously mentioned, the undisclosed features referenced earlier are narrative cutscenes that develop the stories of Kiryu and Majima during an important arc of their character development into even richer and more multifaceted accounts, crafting a truly captivating plot for the players.

This mode enables four players to assume the roles of story characters creatively taken from the game’s narrative, allowing for captivating gameplay as players progress through various missions and unlock different stages.
