How Detective Duck Investigations Work
- Explore the scene and pick up items: keys, tools, notes and evidence.
- Unlock suspects. Fingerprints, posters, books and conversations add profiles to your board.
- Crack the locks. Most cases mix number codes, colour or symbol grids and item puzzles.
- Pin evidence to the investigation board; full boards often reveal the last code.
- End the investigation from your phone and vote. In co-op, the most-voted suspect is accused.

Tools You Use in Every Case
- Magnifying glass for fingerprints and hidden symbols.
- UV light for invisible writing and numbers.
- Phone for chats, hints and ending the investigation.
- Police car analyzer for fingerprints in town cases.
- Inventory: it holds nine items, so drop notes on the board when it fills up.
Weekly Cases Change
Weekly cases such as the Pizzeria (Case #0088) are reshuffled every time you load in, including puzzles and sometimes the culprit. Fixed answers only work for the permanent cases listed above. For weekly cases, follow the method rather than memorising codes.
General Detective Duck Walkthrough Tips
- Read every book and note; they often contain the code hints and fill suspect profiles.
- When a code has colours, look for a colour chart or poster nearby.
- Talk to every NPC twice; second lines often give items.
- Wrong accusations cannot be undone, so check that every clue points to the same person before voting.
About Detective Duck
Detective Duck is an escape-room style mystery on Roblox by Protocol: Anomaly, published in October 2025. You can play solo or in groups of up to five, on PC or mobile. According to official Detective Duck stats, the game has passed 44 million visits and peaked at around 6,000 concurrent players in March 2026. Summer Camp was the newest map at the time of writing.
Detective Duck Walkthrough Tips by Puzzle Type
Number codes from chats and notes
Many locks use a code hinted in a phone chat or a note. Hints often mix numbers and colours, for example “1, 5, green, 3”. When a colour appears, look for a colour chart or poster in the same area that turns colours into digits.
Sequences
Archery targets, buttons and panels usually need an order. Use the UV light on the objects first; hidden numbers tell you the sequence.
Symbol and colour grids
Find where the symbols appear (often only under the magnifying glass), then find a poster that gives each symbol a colour. Fill the grid using both.
Fingerprints
Use the magnifying glass on doors, freezers and handles, then analyse the print at the police car. Each match adds a suspect profile.
Key chains
Town cases chain items: a coin opens a phone call, a delivery brings a key, a key opens a sewer. If you are stuck, talk to every NPC again; one of them usually has the next item.
Solo or Co-op?
Every case can be finished solo, but groups of up to five split the searching. In co-op the whole group votes at the end, so agree on the culprit before you enter the voting room. A wrong vote fails the case for everyone.
Which Detective Duck Case Should You Play First?
If you are new, start with The Bank or The Train: both are compact and teach fingerprints, codes and the voting screen. The Prison and The Villa add more locations and suspects. The Bakery is a longer key chain in a town map, and Summer Camp is the biggest, with four separate locks and six notes. Weekly cases such as the Pizzeria are best left until you know the mechanics, because their answers change every time you load in.
Detective Duck Case Difficulty
| Case | Length | What makes it tricky |
|---|---|---|
| The Bank | Short | Licence plate lookup on the staff computer |
| The Train | Short | Compact map, a good first case |
| The Prison | Medium | More rooms and codes |
| The Villa | Medium | Villa and yacht areas to search |
| The Suburbs | Medium | A whole street to explore |
| The Bakery | Long | Long chain of keys across town |
| Summer Camp | Long | Four locks and six notes |
Whichever case you pick, read every book, note and chat, and do not vote until every clue points to the same person. Our individual guides list each code in the order you will need it.
New cases are added to the game regularly. When one releases, we write a full Detective Duck walkthrough for it and add it to the table at the top of this page, so check back after each update for the latest case, its codes and its culprit.
Final Thoughts
Use this Detective Duck walkthrough page as your case index. Each guide follows the same order the game does, and we add new cases as they release, so this Detective Duck walkthrough hub stays the fastest way to the right answer.
