Treasure of Nadia Shovels: All 5 Upgrades & Part Locations (2026)

There are five Treasure of Nadia shovels after your starter tool: the Jade Shovel, Swift Shovel, Pirate Shovel, King’s Shovel and God’s Shovel. Each one is crafted at the Shrine from three parts plus a talisman or coin, and each makes digging faster. This page lists every part, where it is, and what changes when you upgrade.

The shovel controls digging speed, not talisman quality. The tier of talisman you find depends on your Guide (Field Guide, then Super Guide). Upgrading the shovel means lower-tier talismans pop up instantly while better ones still play the spin animation, so you also know at a glance when you have found something valuable.

Jade Shovel

Shovel Handle: the backyard path behind the Parlor. The Silver Talisman recipe is there too.
Shovel Shaft: Estero State Park, west of the entrance. Pick it up while the goons distract Michael the ranger.
Shovel Head: bought at Squallmart for $80.
Jade Talisman: dig one up after buying the Field Guide.

Craft it at the Shrine. Building it also unlocks temple puzzle 6.

Swift Shovel

Alloy Shovel Head: bought for $200.
Carbon Shovel Shaft: the attic of the Full Mast Bar.
Ultra Shovel Handle: Estero State Park 3-2.
Silver Talisman: craft from three Stone Talismans and Silver Ore if you have not dug one.

Pirate Shovel

Cursed Shovel: the Church, in the room to the right of Madalyn’s chambers.
Pirate Medallion: found during the Church and Lost Underground chapters. Show the first one to Diana.
Jade Talisman and Gold Talisman: keep one of each in reserve.

King’s Shovel

King’s Shovel Head: Lost Underground 1-3.
King’s Shovel Handle: Deep Jungle 1-1.
King’s Shovel Shaft: received at the Cemetery after you craft Penetrating Oil.
Caulli’s Coin: use the Eye of Caulli in the Library basement. The coin respawns there each time you spend one.

God’s Shovel

God’s Shovel Handle: Lost Underground 3-2.
God’s Shovel Shaft: the Lighthouse, late in the story.
God’s Shovel Head: the Mansion, read the recipe at the Fountain of Youth first.

Do You Need Every Shovel?

The Jade, Swift and Pirate Shovels are each required to unlock an Ancient Temple puzzle (6, 13 and 20), and the King’s and God’s Shovels make post-game farming dramatically faster. In practice you will build all five. Treasure of Nadia shovels are also one of the few upgrades with no downside, so build each as soon as you can.
