How to Redeem Your Shift Codes

Redeeming your BL4 Halloween Event Shift Codes is a simple process. You can choose to do it either through a web browser or directly within the game. Follow these steps to claim your rewards.

Redeeming via the Shift Website

Many players find this method faster for copying and pasting multiple codes.

First, go to the official Borderlands website (https://www.borderlands.com) and log in to your SHiFT account.
Next, select the “Rewards” tab located on the left side of the screen.
Then, carefully type or paste the 25-digit code into the “Code Redemption” box.
After that, click the “Check” button and confirm the platform you want the rewards sent to.
Finally, a success message will appear, and your items will be delivered to your in-game mail.

Redeeming In-Game

This method is convenient if you are already playing.

To start, launch Borderlands 4 and open the pause menu.
Then, navigate to the “SHiFT” menu option.
Subsequently, select the “Rewards” tab from the menu on the left.
Now, enter the Shift code into the provided text field.
Finally, hit the “Redeem” button to receive your free loot.

Using Your Halloween Rewards and Golden Keys

After redeeming your BL4 Halloween Event Shift Codes, your Gourd Your Loins head and Hex Appeal weapon skin will automatically be available in your customization menus. You can apply them to your Vault Hunter and their arsenal at any time.

Golden Keys, however, are used at Golden Chests located in major hub towns like The Launchpad, Carcadia, Belton’s Bore, and The Lockaway. Each chest opening costs one Golden Key and grants high-rarity gear, including Legendary weapons, that scales to your current level.

Expert Tips for Shift Code Success

Mastering the use of BL4 Halloween Event Shift Codes can give you a significant edge in your gameplay. Consider these pro tips to maximize your benefits.

Redeem codes immediately. Golden Key codes often expire in just 48 hours, so redeem them as soon as you can to bank the keys for later use.
Save Golden Keys for later levels. The loot from Golden Chests scales with your level. Using keys at higher levels ensures you get powerful end-game gear instead of low-level items you will quickly outgrow.
Follow official sources. To get new codes as they drop, follow the official Borderlands social media accounts and Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford on X (Twitter).
Check your Reward History. If you are unsure whether you have claimed a code, you can verify it in the “Reward History” section on the Shift website or in-game.
Link your accounts. Make sure your Shift account is properly linked to your gaming platform (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox) to ensure rewards are delivered correctly.

Common Challenges and Solutions

You might encounter a couple of issues when redeeming codes. Here is how to solve them.

Code already redeemed. All Shift codes are for one-time use only per account. If you get this error, it means you have already claimed that specific code in the past.
Invalid or expired code. Double-check for typos. If the code is correct, it has likely expired. Golden Key codes have short active windows, so always redeem them quickly.
Rewards not in inventory. Remember that Golden Keys and cosmetic items do not go to your character’s backpack. Keys are added to your key count, and cosmetics are found in their respective customization menus.
