GTA VI Launch Trailer Is Here: Justice Scores the Game as Take-Two Confirms November 19 Release (2026)

Rockstar Games has published the official launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, giving players their closest look yet at Jason and Lucia ahead of the game’s November 19, 2026 release. The roughly 90-second video landed on October 15, 2026, and it arrived alongside two major confirmations: French electronica duo Justice is composing the game’s original score, and Take-Two Interactive says the release date is still on track.

The trailer places protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos in Vice City and the wider fictional state of Leonida, leaning on atmosphere, cars and action rather than a gameplay demonstration, according to Motor1. Rockstar’s official listing credits the trailer as captured in-game on PlayStation 5, a detail that will matter to console players comparing platforms ahead of launch.

The big surprise was the music. Justice has composed the original score for Grand Theft Auto VI, and the duo previewed the project with “Flower in a Hurricane,” a new single featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. A portion of the song is featured in the launch trailer itself, according to SPIN, which broke the news on October 15. “Flower in a Hurricane” reunites Justice with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker after the musicians won the Best Electronic Recording Grammy in 2025 for “Neverender.”

Rockstar is treating the music as a layered rollout. Beyond Justice’s composed score, the game’s virtual radio dial will feature celebrity hosts across its stations: Bad Bunny and RaiNao hosting contemporary Latin music on Cocoteo FM, Lana Del Rey and Morgan Wallen as MW and Delta Dawne on Back Country Radio, Robyn and Alex Consani on the pop station Flash FM, Trick Daddy and Trina on Dirty South Classics, Burna Boy and DJ Palms Trax on AfroBank FM, and Slayer’s Kerry King and Tom Araya running the heavy metal station The Chamber 106.6. Separate from all of that, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album will feature 34 original songs created for the game, with Travis Scott, Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Yung Lean and Keith Richards all releasing songs connected to the soundtrack, according to SPIN.

The trailer’s arrival settles weeks of speculation. Earlier this month, fans had been watching October 15 as the next likely trailer slot, noting that every major official update since the August 27 Extended Look had landed on a Thursday. That pattern has now held, and the wait for fresh official footage is over.

On the business side, Take-Two Interactive used its latest earnings report this week to reaffirm the plan. According to Filmogaz, chief executive Strauss Zelnick said Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on track for its November 19 release and declined to announce pricing, saying no pricing announcement would come with the earnings release. He pointed instead to a marketing push expected to begin this summer. The company reported a GAAP loss of 32 cents a share on $1.58 billion in net bookings, with full fiscal year results of $6.72 billion in net bookings, up 19 percent from a year earlier, underscoring how much is riding on the launch.

Behind the scenes, the game is still being finished. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reports, via Notebookcheck, that GTA VI has not yet “gone gold,” meaning the final master build is still undergoing bug fixes and polishing. Preloads are scheduled for November 12, 2026, with the final build expected to clear platform certification with Microsoft and Sony near that window. In an interview with Bloomberg, Rockstar’s director of technology Phil Hooker said the studio keeps refining the game until the very end, telling the outlet that development work continues right up until the last moment, according to Khelnow.

For players, the timeline is now concrete. The launch trailer is out, the score is set, preloads begin November 12, and November 19 is the date Rockstar and Take-Two keep repeating. After years of delays and rumors, GTA VI is one month away from being a game people actually play.
