Hytale Chapter 1 “Out of the Breach” Launches Today With First Dungeon, Gobliterator Boss Fight, and $15,000 Streamer Bounty (2026)
Hytale Chapter 1: Hytale’s first real adventure begins today
Hytale’s long wait for real adventure content is over. Hytale Chapter 1, titled Out of the Breach and the first major Early Access content chapter for Hypixel Studios’ blocky sandbox RPG, goes live today, October 12, 2026, at 10 AM ET. The update delivers the game’s first handcrafted dungeon, its first multi-phase boss fight, a new Rune Abilities combat system, Goblin Breach world events, the game’s first official minigames, and a $15,000 real-money bounty for the first streamer to defeat the new boss under brutal hardcore rules.

A comeback story nine months in the making
Hytale entered Early Access on January 13, 2026, and more than three million players have tried it since, according to VGTimes. The road here was anything but smooth. After Riot Games shut down Hypixel Studios in June 2025 and Hytale looked finished, studio co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme bought back the rights to the game and pushed it into Early Access a few months later. Since launch, the team has shipped weekly updates focused on technical foundations, from Spectator mode to Hardcore mode and a built-in Mod Browser. Collins-Laflamme admitted back in July that there were not many reasons to come back to the game yet. Chapter 1 is the answer: the first update that expands what there is to play instead of how the game runs.
What it means for players
For players, today is the day Hytale starts becoming the adventure RPG it was pitched as back in 2018. The Deepworks dungeon and its boss give the game its first structured, endgame-style challenge, while Goblin Breaches add repeatable timed content for explorers and loot hunters. For streamers, the $15,000 Gobliterator bounty turns launch day into a race: the first solo streamer to beat the mecha-goblin on Hard difficulty in Hardcore mode, with no armor, no potions and no glitches, using only iron weapons from Exploration Mode, with the entire run streamed, takes the prize. For server owners and modders, the Encounter Manager system behind the boss fight matters even more. Hypixel built boss encounters as content rather than engine code, which means the community can use the same tools to design its own multi-phase boss fights. That creator-first approach echoes this week’s wider push to put game creation in more hands, from Google’s AI-powered Playground platform built with Unity.
Key details: everything new in Hytale Chapter 1
- The Deepworks dungeon: Hytale’s first handcrafted dungeon, a subterranean goblin stronghold. Two named threats wait inside, according to CriticalPixel: the Feastmaster, a huge goblin elite that charges players, calls in reinforcements mid-fight and wrecks its surroundings, and the Gobliterator, a towering multi-phase mecha-goblin and the chapter’s headline boss.
- Goblin Breach world events: answering the chapter’s opening call at the Forgotten Temple opens temporary portals to unstable fragments of Orbis overrun by goblins and the Void. Each breach is randomly regenerated, so repeat visits play differently, and the Void eventually pushes players back out, which makes every run a timed loot grab. Pre-release notes put breaches at least 30 minutes apart, with unapproached portals fading after five minutes.
- Rune Abilities: a new combat system built on Ability Runestones and Modifier Runestones. Ability runes grant active skills such as Chain Hook, Charged Shot, Ground Slam, Wind Strike, Enrage, Fireball-style attacks and Imbue Poison, while modifier runes change how those skills behave, adjusting area, duration, ricochet and forking effects.
- Goblin gadgets: a new toolkit including rocket boots, a scrap glider, a mining drill, a spyglass and a hookshot.
- The Forgotten Temple: a new hub that opens the chapter and will serve as the progression hub for future Early Access chapters.
- First official minigames: the first set of official Hytale minigames ships alongside the chapter, giving players a brand-new way to play with friends.
- Cursebreaker bonus: for every Early Access chapter released, Cursebreaker Edition owners receive an extra Standard Edition copy to give away to friends or family, according to Collins-Laflamme. The first bonus copy is already claimable through the Hytale account portal.

How to play Hytale Chapter 1 today
Chapter 1 is a PC release available now through the official Hytale site at hytale.com, where the game is sold in Standard, Supporter and Cursebreaker editions starting at about $20, according to Game8. If you are jumping in today, our Hytale cheats guide covers the console commands that still work after the update, though commands can change during Early Access, so verify anything unfamiliar in-game with /help.
With Chapter 1 live, the question hanging over Hytale is whether the adventure content can keep pace with the ambition. If the Deepworks lands and the modding tools do what Hypixel promises, today could be remembered as the day Hytale truly began.
