Which Recipes to Craft First

You will not need all of these at once. In a normal playthrough the order is roughly:

1. Silver Talisman (3 Stone Talismans + Silver Ore). Your first recipe, found behind the Parlor together with the Shovel Handle.
2. Jade Shovel. Digging becomes much faster: Stone Talismans pop up instantly and higher tiers spin.
3. Blow Dart and Rat Trap, both needed for story progress early on.
4. Pickaxe. Opens every weak patch of ground and several hidden chests.
5. Rock Bomb and Pirate Key for the Caverns, Church sewers and Casula Temple.
6. Gold, Grand and Royal Talismans to fund the late game and unlock temple puzzles.

Ingredients That Are Easy to Run Out Of

• Broken Keys. You need four for a Chest Key and two for each Pirate Key. There are exactly 22 in the game; see the broken key locations.
• Silver Ore and Gold Ore. Squallmart sells Silver Ore for $1,000 and Gold Ore for $4,000. Grand Talismans need three Gold Ore each, so they get expensive fast.
• Basic Containers. Used in Rock Bombs, Rat Traps, Aloe Lotion, Nitroglycerin and Jasmine Oil. Squallmart starts stocking them partway through the story.
• Plants. Aloe, Ginseng, Maca and Jasmine appear in several recipes. Most can only be carried one at a time; our plants guide lists where each one spawns.

How to Craft the ??? Item

The ??? item is post-story and is the last recipe most players find. It needs a Death Doll (a reward from Tasha after you help her find the Bar Key) and three White Hair Strands, one for each of three different deaths: being mauled by the jaguar, drowning near the pirate ship with Flippers, and hypothermia in the Mansion sewers. Kama Sutra Threesome Recipes

The six threesome pages are crafted rather than found. Each needs two Torn Pages of the same colour plus two Talismans of the Gods. The torn page colours are orange (Alia and Tasha), purple (Diana and Clare), yellow (Emily and Kaley), blue (Janet and Jessica), green (Madalyn and Sofia) and red (Naomi and Pricia). The Talismans of the Gods come mostly from the Gold Compass riddle.

Crafting Tips

• Read every scroll you walk past, even if you cannot craft the item yet. Recipes stay unlocked.
• Craft extra Rock Bombs while you have the materials; several areas need them and the Fountain of Youth uses one for the hypothermia death.
• Keep a Grand Talisman in your inventory when you can. Puzzle 25 in the Ancient Temple only unlocks while you hold one.
• Do not sell your last Jade and Gold Talismans before crafting the Pirate Shovel.
