Best class in Azeroth Survivors

S tier: Hunter, Warlock, Mage. Ranged classes are the strongest because the game is all about staying alive while your spells fire on their own. Hunter is the best all-round pick: its pet soaks hits while you kite, and it does big crits on bosses. Warlock has the highest late-game damage, since its DoTs spread across whole packs and heal you back. Mage clears the screen fastest of all, but it has the lowest health in the game and no pet, so one bad step ends the run.

A tier: Paladin, Warrior, Shaman. Paladin and Warrior are the most forgiving classes. Shaman is strong once Chain Lightning and totems are online, but starts slower.

B tier: Priest, Druid, Rogue. None of these are bad. Priest and Druid are very safe but clear slowly, and Rogue has great boss burst but is a fragile melee class that punishes mistakes.

Best class for beginners

Pick Paladin, Warrior or Hunter for your first run. Paladin is the easiest class to clear a zone with thanks to Consecration, shields and a free death save every 90 seconds. Warrior has the most health and Bladestorm. Hunter is the best choice if you prefer ranged, because the pet tanks for you. Avoid Mage and Rogue at first: both rate just 2 out of 5 for ease.

The pure damage column comes from a separate damage-only ranking. It puts Warlock and Warrior on top, which is why Warrior is a great pick once you can dodge well, even though it sits in A overall.

How to play Azeroth Survivors

Azeroth Survivors is a free, fan-made roguelike by Aethus that mixes World of Warcraft with the Vampire Survivors formula. It runs in your browser with no account and nothing to install, but it needs WebGPU, so use the latest Chrome or Edge on a PC with a keyboard. It is not an official Blizzard game, and it is not the same as the Azeroth Survivors addons that run inside WoW Forever.

  • Pick a class, a race and a zone, name your hero and press Enter. There are 9 classes and 8 races.
  • Your spells cast on their own. Your job is to move with W, A, S and D and stay alive. Space jumps.
  • Each level-up offers 3 spell cards. Press 1, 2 or 3 to take one, or R to reroll.
  • Bosses arrive every few minutes, so keep moving instead of standing still.
  • Spend gold on chests to choose trinkets and gear that power up your hero.
  • C locks or unlocks the camera, the mouse wheel zooms and Esc pauses.

Fix the WebGPU error

If the game says your browser has no WebGPU, update Chrome or Edge and turn on hardware (GPU) acceleration in the browser settings. On Linux, open chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu, set it to Enabled and relaunch. On a laptop with two graphics cards, set the browser to High performance in Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics. The official site also offers a Windows download if your browser keeps crashing.

Tips to survive longer

  • Never stand still: bosses and elite packs punish players who park in one spot.
  • Take area damage cards early so you can clear waves, then add single-target damage for bosses.
  • Use rerolls when a level-up offers nothing for your build instead of taking a weak card.
  • Open chests whenever you can afford them; trinkets are a big power spike.
  • On fragile classes like Mage and Rogue, take any defensive card or shield you are offered.

How we ranked

We combined the two Azeroth Survivors tier lists that exist so far (version 0.120.5), rated on safety, scaling, boss damage and community results. Both put the same classes in the same tiers, so this list reflects full agreement. Game details come from the official Azeroth Survivors site, where you can play it free in your browser. The game is still in alpha, so we will update this Azeroth Survivors tier list after balance patches.
