Blooket Play: How to Run a Game With Your Class (10 Steps)
Blooket play sessions are one of the easiest ways to turn a review lesson into a game. You choose a question set, pick a mode, share a Game ID and let students race. This ten-step guide uses Gold Quest as the example and shows exactly where to click, from the first Host button to the final standings.
What You Need to Run a Blooket Play Session
- A set ready to go. If you do not have one, build it with this Blooket create guide.
- Students on laptops, tablets or phones.
- About ten minutes for a short game.
How to Blooket Play a Live Game, Step by Step
Step 1: Choose your set and click Host
Open My Sets on the Blooket dashboard, find your quiz and click Host. The tutorial uses a four-question set about Tanzania.

Step 2: Pick a game type
Scroll up or down the list and click a mode. This example uses Gold Quest, where players answer questions to collect gold and take it from each other. You can compare other options in Blooket game modes explained.

Step 3: Click Host Game
The mode card lists the player limit (60, or 1,000 with Plus) and the minimum number of players. Click Host Game.

Step 4: Choose Time or Maximum Gold
You can end the game by Time limit or by Maximum Gold Amount. The example picks Time limit.

Step 5: Set the minutes
Use the up and down arrows or type a number to set the length. Seven minutes is a good default for a short review.

Step 6: Adjust the game settings
Scroll to the checkbox list. If you do not want to show instructions to students, untick Show Instructions. Leave the recommended options on unless you have a reason.

Step 7: Click Host Now
Scroll back up and click Host Now to open the lobby.

Step 8: Share the Game ID
When the Game ID appears, click Copy Join Link to send a URL, or read the number aloud or show it on the board. Students type it at play.blooket.com. More detail is in how to host a Blooket game.

Step 9: Click Start
Once your students appear in the lobby, click Start to begin the game.

Step 10: End the game and read the results
To finish early, click the arrow icon in the upper right. When the game ends, the leaderboard shows the final standings. You can then review how each student did.
