4. Console player connects a controller to their device
5. You’re now playing together. The console player is technically streaming from the PC, but it works surprisingly well

The tradeoffs:

• The console player’s inputs travel over the internet to the PC, so there’s a slight latency
• Progression saves only on the PC player’s account
• You both need decent internet (the host especially)

But hey. You’re playing together. That’s the point, right?

Scenario 2: PlayStation + Switch

This one’s trickier. There’s no direct bridge.

Your best bet? Remote Play on PC + Steam Remote Play Together.

I know that sounds like alphabet soup. Here’s what you actually do:

1. PlayStation players stream their console to a PC using PS Remote Play
2. That PC now has the PlayStation画面 running on it
3. The PC player (or the PlayStation player, if they’re at the computer) launches Steam

Scenario 3: Different Consoles, Both on PC

Wait, that’s not cross-platform. That’s just PC. You can just play online co-op normally.

But if only one of you owns the game? Use Remote Play Together. One copy, two players, full campaign.

The Developer’s Promise

Dotemu has been transparent about this. They didn’t just say “maybe someday” and ghost us. They specifically stated in their official Steam blog that crossplay is “still something we’re working on” . The community manager on Discord confirmed it’s on their roadmap.

They’ve already sold half a million copies. They’re releasing free content updates. They’re building an actual franchise around this world, with an animated series in development.

This isn’t a game getting abandoned. Crossplay is coming. We just don’t know when.
