OnePlus 15R vs Ace 6T: China vs Global Differences (Battery, Charging, Software)

The OnePlus 15R vs OnePlus Ace 6T comparison is a rare case where the global phone has the smaller battery. According to GSMArena, the global OnePlus 15R has a 7,400 mAh battery and 80W charging, while the China-exclusive Ace 6T has an 8,300 mAh battery and 100W charging.

The 15R makes up for it with a better selfie camera and OxygenOS 16 with the full OnePlus AI suite.

GSMArena says the 15R shares most of its key specs with the Ace 6T, so apart from the battery, charging speed, front camera and software, the phones are identical.

Which Name Is Which?

The OnePlus 15R is the global model, and the OnePlus Ace 6T is the China-exclusive model it is based on. Be careful with the name “OnePlus Ace 6”: some comparison pages use it for a different phone with another spec sheet, and the Ace 6 Ultra has a Dimensity 9500 chip and a larger battery. Check that a listing says Ace 6T if you want the exact twin of the 15R. We could not confirm the model numbers, so we left them out.

Battery and Charging: China Wins

An 8,300 mAh battery and 100W charging is a clear advantage for the Ace 6T over the 7,400 mAh and 80W of the 15R. Still, a 7,400 mAh silicon-carbon cell is large by global standards. One source gave the 15R charging as 55W, which conflicts with the 80W that GSMArena lists, so we use 80W.

Software: ColorOS vs OxygenOS 16

The 15R runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and includes the full OnePlus AI suite. The Chinese Ace 6T runs ColorOS, so it follows the usual Chinese ROM pattern: no Google services pre-installed (see our Google services guide), and the other limits we describe in the Chinese ROM vs Global ROM guide.

Camera

The rear cameras are the same. The 15R gets a 32 MP front camera, double the 16 MP of the Ace 6T, which matters for video calls and selfies.

Should You Buy the 15R or Import the Ace 6T?

Buy the OnePlus 15R if you want a warranty, OxygenOS with the full AI suite, Google services built in and a better selfie camera.
Import the Ace 6T if battery size and charging speed matter most and you accept a Chinese ROM. For the same brand, see our OnePlus 15 China vs Global guide, which covers eSIM, bands, updates and warranty.

Questions to Ask Before Importing the Ace 6T

If you decide to import, a few questions to the seller save a lot of trouble later:

Which exact model is it? Confirm that it is the Ace 6T and not another Ace 6 variant.
Does the box include the charger? Chinese boxes often do.
What is the warranty, and who handles repairs? Most brands require you to send Chinese phones back to China.
Which language packs are installed, and does the phone run ColorOS in English?
What is the return policy if the phone does not work on your network?

Also compare the final price after shipping and import taxes with the local price of the OnePlus 15R, which starts at $699 / €699 / £649. A cheaper Chinese phone is only a better deal if the total cost and the missing support are acceptable to you.
