Pokemon Winds and Waves: All 54 Confirmed Pokemon for Nintendo Switch 2
The Pokedex for the tenth generation is taking shape. Game Freak and The Pokemon Company have now officially confirmed 54 Pokemon for Pokemon Winds Waves, the paired Gen 10 games launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. Here is the full confirmed list, plus what is still unconfirmed.
New starters: Browt, Pombon and Gecqua
The three new starter Pokemon lead the new generation, though their middle and final evolutions have not been revealed yet. Everything else confirmed so far is a returning Pokemon from earlier generations.

What is not counted yet
The reveal trailer also showed several other Pokemon inside a fairy tale-like book, including Eevee and its evolutions, Slowbro, Slowking, Larvitar, Altaria, Staraptor, Talonflame, Floette, Abomasnow, Deerling, Skiddo, Oinkologne, Wattrel and Gholdengo. Game Freak has not shown these in actual gameplay, so they do not count toward the official 54, though their appearance in the trailer makes them likely additions.
About the games
Pokemon Winds and Waves were revealed on Pokemon Day, February 27, 2026, as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. They are set in a tropical region of windswept islands surrounded by a vast ocean, with underwater exploration confirmed, and two special regional Pikachu variants dubbed Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu. A worldwide launch is planned for 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2 only, with no original Switch version announced.
Expect the Pokemon Winds and Waves confirmed count to keep growing as new trailers arrive.
What the 54 count tells us about the Gen 10 Pokedex
Fifty-four confirmed Pokemon sounds small next to the 1,000-plus creatures in the National Pokedex, but it is early. The Pokemon Winds Waves confirmed list mixes 21 returning evolution lines with the three new starters, and each new trailer can add whole evolution lines at once: the starters’ evolutions alone will add six more. The bigger question is how Game Freak handles the National Pokedex on Switch 2 hardware. Recent generations have all launched with curated rosters, and there is a real chance some fan favorites sit out the Pokemon Winds Waves era entirely.
When will we learn more?
The Pokemon Company typically reveals new creatures in waves tied to trailers and Pokemon Presents broadcasts. With the Pokemon Winds Waves launch set for sometime in 2027 and no month announced, expect the confirmed count to climb steadily through the next year. The unconfirmed trailer-book Pokemon, Eevee’s line, Larvitar, Altaria, Gholdengo and the rest, are the most likely candidates for the next reveal, since Game Freak has already shown them publicly.
