MW4 Campaign Early Access Won’t Launch on PC? How to Fix the Mandatory TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot Error (Plus DLSS 4.5 Settings)

Call of Duty: MW4 Campaign Early Access officially unlocked today, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM PDT, giving Vault Edition and pre-order players a full week head start before Multiplayer and DMZ launch on October 23. However, thousands of PC players on Steam and Battle.net are hitting a hard wall at the splash screen: a mandatory RICOCHET Anti-Cheat Kernel Attestation Error requiring TPM 2.0 and UEFI Secure Boot—even just to boot the single-player campaign.

Fix MW4 Campaign Early Access TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot error on PC

At the same time, players who successfully loaded into the campaign discovered a major technical surprise inside the graphics menu: native day-one support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR Redstone.

Why MW4 Blocks Campaign Launch Without TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot

Unlike previous installments where kernel-level security checks only triggered during Ranked Play or Warzone matches, the updated Call of Duty HQ client for Modern Warfare 4 enforces hardware attestation at executable launch (cod.exe). If your Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC has CSM (Compatibility Support Module) enabled in the BIOS, or if Intel PTT / AMD fTPM was disabled after a BIOS update, the game immediately terminates with a security compliance prompt.

Step-by-Step Fix: Enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot in 3 Minutes

Before rebooting into your motherboard BIOS, verify your current status in Windows:

Press Win + R, type tpm.msc, and press Enter. Confirm that the Specification Version reads 2.0.

Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and check two lines: BIOS Mode must say UEFI (not Legacy), and Secure Boot State must say On.

If Secure Boot says “Off”:

Open an elevated Command Prompt or use our Windows 11 Repair Commands Generator to run shutdown /r /fw /t 0 and boot straight into your UEFI BIOS immediately.

On ASUS / MSI / Gigabyte / ASRock (AMD Ryzen): Go to Advanced → AMD fTPM Configuration and set it to Enabled. Then go to Boot → CSM Support and set it to Disabled. Finally, under Secure Boot, switch Secure Boot Mode from Standard to Custom, click Restore Factory Keys, and save changes (F10).

On Intel Motherboards: Enable Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT) under Security settings, disable CSM, and enable Secure Boot.

MW4 PC Graphics Surprise: Native DLSS 4.5, FSR Redstone & 16GB VRAM Ultra Requirements

Once inside the Modern Warfare 4 campaign, the PC options menu reveals one of the most demanding—and forward-looking—rendering pipelines in franchise history:
