How Squaredle works

Squaredle gives you a grid of letters and asks you to find every valid word hidden in it. Words are traced through adjacent tiles — horizontally, vertically or diagonally — and the path may bend as often as you like, but you cannot reuse a tile within the same word.

Two things separate it from an ordinary word search:

  • You must find every required word to clear the board. The counter tells you how many remain at each length, which is why the answers above are split the same way.
  • Bonus words exist beyond the required set. These don’t block completion but do build your score, and there is a specific bonus word of the day worth hunting.

A new grid appears every day at midnight local time. There’s no guess limit and no penalty for wrong attempts.

Finding the words you’re missing

Work the length counter, not the grid. If you need two more six-letter words, stop scanning randomly. Six-letter words in a small grid have limited possible paths — look for tiles with many neighbours, since long words must pass through the busiest parts of the board.

Try suffixes on words you already found. If SPARK cleared, check whether the grid also supports SPARKS or SPARKY. Squaredle grids frequently contain a word and its inflected forms, and players who found the root often miss the extension.

Hunt the corners last, and deliberately. Corner tiles have only three neighbours, so they appear in very few words. If a corner letter is still unused late on, the remaining word almost certainly starts or ends there.

Say the letters aloud in pairs. Odd as it sounds, this catches consonant clusters — TH, CH, STR — that the eye skips when scanning a grid visually.

Scoring and streaks

Clearing all required words completes the puzzle and extends your streak. Bonus words add to your score without being necessary, so if you’re playing for the streak alone you can safely ignore them — and if you’re playing for the score, the bonus word of the day is the highest-value single find on the board.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reuse a letter tile in the same word?
No. Each tile can be used once per word, though the same tile may appear in many different words.

Do words have to be in a straight line?
No — the path can turn as often as you like, as long as each letter is adjacent to the last, including diagonally.

What is the bonus word of the day?
A specific extra word, beyond the required set, that carries additional score. It’s listed separately above so you don’t have to reveal the whole board to get it.

Do wrong guesses cost anything?
No. There’s no penalty and no limit, so guessing freely is the intended way to play.

What time does Squaredle reset?
Midnight in your local time zone. The countdown above runs on your own clock.
