Treasure of Nadia Fishing Guide: Best Lures, All 20 Bounties and Bruce

Treasure of Nadia fishing is one of the best money makers in the game. Jim at the Bait Shop posts 20 bounties, from a $30 Seaperch to a $100,000 three-thousand-pound Great White named Bruce, and together they pay $362,360. Fishing also unlocks six Ancient Temple puzzles and one Kama Sutra page. This guide covers lures, weights, every bounty and the casting technique that makes big fish easier.

How Fishing Works

  • Click on the water at the Beach and choose a lure.
  • Three fish are visible at any time. Saving the game, or leaving the area and returning, rerolls them.
  • Cast close to a fish, not on top of it. A lure that lands directly on a fish scares it away.
  • Lures come in a base and a heavy version. Heavy lures make bigger fish more likely.
  • If a fish you already caught meets a later bounty, Jim pays it straight away; you do not need to catch it again.

Best Lure for Each Fish

Fish Preferred lure
Great White Shark Pink Plug
Hammerhead Shark Natural Jig
Marlin Green Squid
Rockfish Green Jig
Seaperch Natural Plug
Tuna Pink Squid

Rockfish and Seaperch are not picky, and the Green Squid works on everything except the two sharks. In practice you can finish every bounty with just three lures: Heavy Natural Jig (Hammerhead, Seaperch, Rockfish), Heavy Green Squid (Marlin, Tuna, Rockfish, Seaperch) and Heavy Pink Plug (Great White). In one playthrough the Heavy Green Squid cost $350 and the Heavy Pink Plug $300. Wait for the heavy lures before spending at the Bait Shop; the Floppin’ Fish you find in Estero State Park unlocks more of the shop’s stock.

Catching Bruce, the 3,000 lb Great White

Bruce is the last bounty and the one that takes longest. Use the Heavy Pink Plug, save before casting, and reroll the three visible fish by saving or leaving the Beach until a very large shark shadow appears. The name is a nod to the mechanical shark used in Jaws.

Fishing Puzzles and Rewards

  • Temple puzzle 7 needs a Seaperch, 21 a Hammerhead, 31 a Great White and 44 a Marlin of 1,000 lb or more.
  • Puzzle 35 needs every lure in your inventory at once. If you lost one, buy it again.
  • Puzzle 46 needs you to run Jim out of money, which happens naturally once every bounty is paid.
  • Catching a Tuna also gives Jessica’s fourth Kama Sutra page (see chest and page locations).

The full puzzle list is on our Treasure of Nadia puzzles page. For other ways to fund the late game, see money tips and cheats.

When to Fish

The bounty money is welcome early, but most players save serious fishing for after the main story, when cash for heavy lures is easy and you are cleaning up 100% completion anyway. Stop at the Beach whenever you pass it to check for a big shadow.

Treasure of Nadia Fishing Shopping List

  1. Start with whatever lure the Bait Shop offers for the first Seaperch, Rockfish and Tuna bounties.
  2. Find the Floppin’ Fish in Estero State Park to expand the shop.
  3. Buy the Heavy Green Squid; it covers Marlin, Tuna, Rockfish and Seaperch.
  4. Buy the Heavy Natural Jig for Hammerheads.
  5. Buy the Heavy Pink Plug for Great Whites.
  6. After every bounty is paid, buy any lure you do not own for puzzle 35.

Fastest Bounty Order

Because a big fish pays every smaller bounty of the same species at once, aim high from the start. A single 1,000 lb Marlin clears bounties 8, 13, 17 and 19 together ($131,400). A 3,000 lb Great White clears 14, 18 and 20 ($174,000). That is why late-game Treasure of Nadia fishing with heavy lures is so much faster than working up the list.

Catch Bounties paid Total
5 lb Seaperch 1, 4, 9 $1,850
28 lb Rockfish 2, 5, 10 $2,710
105 lb Tuna 3, 6, 11, 15 $19,400
1,000 lb Hammerhead 7, 12, 16 $33,000
1,000 lb Marlin 8, 13, 17, 19 $131,400
3,000 lb Great White 14, 18, 20 $174,000

Those six catches add up to the full $362,360 from Treasure of Nadia fishing.

Final Thoughts

Treasure of Nadia fishing is relaxed once you have the heavy lures. Aim for the six big catches in the table and Treasure of Nadia fishing will pay out every bounty, unlock six temple puzzles and give you one of the easiest income streams in the game.
