ASUS ROG G1000 Gaming Desktop Launches in Canada With RTX 5080, Holographic Fans, and a C$9,999 Price Tag (2026)

ASUS Republic of Gamers has launched the ROG G1000, its new flagship gaming desktop, in Canada. Announced on October 9, 2026, the 104-liter tower pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card and introduces two firsts for ROG: the ROG Thermal Atrium cooling chamber and AniMe Holo, a full-color holographic fan system. The single Canadian configuration carries an MSRP of C$9,999.

According to ASUS, the G1000 is now available in Canada through the ASUS Store, Best Buy, Canada Computers and Amazon. The Canadian configuration, model GM1000TY-DR9X3D5080WP-CB, is built around the 16-core, 32-thread Ryzen 9 9950X3D with up to a 5.7GHz boost clock and AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology, paired with an RTX 5080 packing 16GB of GDDR7 memory. It ships with 64GB of DDR5 memory in two 32GB modules (expandable to 128GB), a 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and Windows 11 Pro on the AMD X870 platform.

ROG Thermal Atrium: a separate chamber for the CPU cooler

The headline engineering feature is the ROG Thermal Atrium. Instead of mounting the CPU cooler inside the main chassis, ASUS isolated a 420mm AIO liquid cooler and three 140mm intake fans in a dedicated chamber sitting outside the main compartment. That gives the CPU cooler direct access to fresh ambient air that has not been heated by the GPU or power supply.

ASUS says the layout reduces CPU intake temperatures by up to 16 degrees Celsius compared with a conventional internal mount. It is part of a wider Tri-Zone Cooling architecture that gives the CPU, GPU and PSU independent airflow paths, thermally shielded from one another. The GPU draws fresh air from the front intakes while the PSU pulls its own air from beneath the chassis. Altogether, ASUS claims the system can dissipate over 1000W of heat, which it says leaves headroom for next-generation hardware.

AniMe Holo: holographic fans you can program

The second standout is AniMe Holo, which ASUS describes as the world’s first holographic fan system in a prebuilt gaming PC. The tower carries three X-shaped holographic fan modules: a 380mm side fan with 720 LEDs and two 215mm front fans. Precision LEDs embedded in the spinning blades generate holographic imagery, projecting custom text, images and animations in up to 16.77 million colors.

Everything is controlled through Armoury Crate, where owners can display their own MP4, GIF, JPEG or PNG files. The front fan array supports three modes: Solo Mode, which customizes each fan independently; Sync Mode, which harmonizes them; and Fusion Mode, which daisy-chains them for a seamless flow. The side hologram fan sits in a hinged housing for easy maintenance, and ASUS says the spinning holographic modules operate at 20.5 dBA, a figure that applies to the display system rather than the desktop as a whole.

What it means for PC gamers

At C$9,999, the G1000 is aimed squarely at enthusiasts who want flagship performance without building a PC themselves. The 9950X3D is currently the fastest gaming CPU on the market for most titles, and the RTX 5080 brings DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation to the table. Connectivity is thoroughly modern: WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 2.5Gb Ethernet and two USB4 ports pushing 40Gbps. A 1000W 80 PLUS Gold power supply feeds the system, and ASUS includes a gaming RGB keyboard in Canadian layout plus an RGB mouse in the box.

Buyers also get two months of Xbox Game Pass, which is handy timing given the service’s October lineup. There are trade-offs to weigh: the tower weighs 40 kg, so it is not moving around your setup often, and the base warranty is a 1-year send-in plan. And for now, this is a Canada-only launch, with no word on pricing or availability in other regions.
